What is Sports Therapy?

Sports Therapy performed by Alex varies from traditional sports massage treatments people are used too. With clients regularly travelling from London, Southampton, Bournemouth and across the South West to see him, Alex is earning a name as the man who "fixes" the "unfixable."

Trained under John Gibbons "the experts expert" Alex is a certified Bodymaster Method practitioner. The Bodymaster Method combines elements of a variety of techniques into one treatment plan. It follows the ethos where the pain is the problem is not. Simply rubbing where it hurts may feel nice but will not give you long term relief.

What you can expect is a full consultation to identify the route cause of the problem. Any dysfunction within your body will be explained at length and rectified using a combination of soft tissue and mobilisation techniques. You will be given remedial stretches/exercises to aid your recovery. The goal is to finish with you understanding what went wrong, why it went wrong and have it corrected by a series of treatments. Then for you to leave with exercises, stretches and a thorough understanding to prevent it happening again and the ability to self manage.

This treatment is not reserved for the sporting community. It can have massive benefits to people of all walks of life. Whether you work in an office and suffer with wrist, shoulder and back pain or have put your back out working in the garden. Back problems are the most common complaint we deal with and occur in people of all ages in all walks of life. This is also not a treatment only for the young. We have clients coming regularly who are in their late 80's. If you are 18 or 80 we can help.

One of the greatest benefits of sports therapy is in helping prevent injury. We find the most common causes of problems in our clients is over training and under stretching. With regular sports therapy built into their training programmes we have helped people, recover from injury, maintain intense training programmes and go on to beat their personal records. Regular treatments can help break down scar tissue, remove the build-up of toxins, improve mobility and reduce the risk of further injury.

No two treatments are ever the same your treatment will be catered to your specific needs.
